An 11,000-square-meter structure organized around three open patios and a central vestibule linked by atarjeas (water channels). The project includes exhibit rooms, multiuse space, cafeteria, classrooms, library, seminar rooms, four small auditoriums and two large auditoriums for 150 and 350 people each, respectively. The third floor includes research space and two apartments for visiting professors. All of the interiors are washed in natural light from skylights and recessed windows. An outdoor auditorium and a garden terrace have a direct visual connection with the northeast hills of Bogota. The Post Graduate Studies Building was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe award for Latin American Architecture and has been referred to as part of the cultural patrimony of Colombia.
